I made it to Canada! What a relief. I looked last night at how far I had to go to the border and it was about 28 miles. That is longer than my personal best of about 25 miles in one ride. But I set my alarm and determined to get there. So I rode an even 30 miles. Took about 100 minutes, with about 1000 calories. Now I get to go eat breakfast. Probably two pounds of bacon. Kidding. I have about 37.6 miles to my destination, which is 60.6 km. I think I'll switch over to kilometers, because I'm thinking I will stay in Canada up toward Alaska. That's a long way, eh?
I started riding on June 28, 2009 and I've gone 1206 miles since then. That's in 205 days, or just under 6 miles a day, but I took off for almost a month. Spongebrian Lazypants.

Today we are having Family Home Afternoon with the Moffats. Only it's not with family and it's not at home. Their choice this time. Last time we had it at Applebee's, our choice.

Some sad news for those who know him. Mack Talley had a stroke yesterday in the middle of sacrament meeting. We were sitting right behind the Talleys, and Michael Morrison was speaking. Suddenly Mack slumped and leaned to the right. If you know Mack, he can sometimes doze. Heck, I do the same thing sometimes. So initially I didn't think anything. Then Terrina said, frantically, "Dad!?" and I grabbed him to hold him upright. He didn't respond to anything. I flagged Brother (Doctor) Melling down on the stand and he came down and took over. I helped carry Mack out to the foyer and lay him on the couch. Fortunately, we have him and Dr. Swanson and Brother Hearn who is an anesthesiologist. So I just tried to help Terrina and Chandler, her 13 year old son, but Chandler had it all under control. Brother English called 911. Brother Melling and I gave him a blessing with oil. I'm told that Brother Morrison stopped speaking and asked everyone to pray with him for Brother Talley and then resumed his talk. Perfect. Fortunately, this all happened at church. If it had happened during the night...who knows? He's at St. Mary's in Knoxville and under sedation and on a ventilator, just for precaution. Don't know what's next.

How is Mack? I hope he's okay! I heard that Horace McKinney passed away yesterday. So sad! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone out there.
Yes, Horace went into the hospital Friday and died of pneumonia Sunday afternoon. His funeral is reportedly Wednesday night. Mack is about the same according to Terrina. They are going to try taking the ventilator off today. Don't know any more. Moffats went to the funeral of an old student's Sunday after church, too. So for them it was a bad Sunday.
