Captain's log,..supplemental...

You'd have to be an old Trekkie to understand that. None of my immediate family will, Kurt might, and Steve Parker for sure will. Jonathon probably will have heard of it, and Loretta, well, she probably wrote some of the scripts.

I did a quick workout when I got home from work at midnight tonight, seven miles, for a total of 588. I need to get to the Canadian border, it's really getting to me. Big milestone. This particular trip is getting old. I'll choose shorter trips from now on. Will make it seem like I'm actually getting somewhere. Plus, when I use Google Maps to calculate distance, it always pops up the driving time on me, like "Chicago to Thunder Bay, 14 hours" and I've been riding my bike since July. It mocks me.

Tonight a milestone at work, too. My Arch Nemesis (Cindy and Steve will understand) relieved me at midnight, I briefed him on the upcoming weather and he actually spoke to me and then thanked me as I finished. That was a huge deal. I realize that he will likely swing the other way again and plot my destruction, but for now it's nice.

I guess I should keep praying for him, eh?

I'm starting to talk like I'm in Canada.
