Sometimes I hate my dreams and sometimes I just love them.

This one last night I loved. I had a major headache when I came home from work, took two Excedrin for Migraines (best thing ever invented) and took a nap. When I got up and had worked out and was wired from the caffeine in the pills, I didn't go to bed until after 1 a.m. I woke up at 2, 3, and finally at 4:30 for good.

Here's why I woke up: Mom and I were home and were taking care of all four grand kids. Carter was running everywhere, never stopped and never walked. Brigs was trying so hard to keep up with him, but was always about two steps behind. Olivia was directing traffic and being the Queen of Pretend Land. Beau was somehow about three feet tall, and walking but still acted like a baby waving his arms and feet around but just cracking up at all the frenetic activity. I was trying to keep chaos from reigning, and Mom was helping. Until she disappeared on me. Suddenly I realized I was losing my grip on Carter, who would not stop for me and kept running away. And the other boys were getting SO excited watching him and Olivia was getting frustrated because nobody was pretending anymore.

So I got a bit frustrated with Mom and went to find her. I heard voices in the garage and I went there and this guy who is running for county commission was just walking out yelling to Mom outside about "the year long contract". Crap! Year long contract? What did she do? There goes Carter running out the garage to who knows where, and I run after him and then notice at the top of the driveway a HUGE gouge in the earth all carved out by big equipment. Then I hear this roar and look up and there is Mom sitting in the cab of the biggest bulldozer I've ever seen, digging up the earth, and she cannot get the thing in gear and the gears are grinding and the kids are running all over and Carter is headed for the bulldozer and Brigs is running in circles and Beau is waving like crazy and Olivia is yelling and stamping her feet and Mom, tiny little Mom in the cab of the world's biggest bulldozer is shoving that gear shift back and forth like mad and the candidate is yelling about how many thousands of dollars the contract for the bulldozer and building her new garage will cost us and I'm thinking "She's building a new garage?" and then the stress just wakes me up and it's 4:30 a.m. and I figure "What the heck? Might as well get up and go in" and so I do. By 5:30 I'm ready, eating breakfast, and Mom gets up (this is sleeping in for her), I tell her the dream and she just laughs and then I kiss her goodbye and I'm off.

I don't know if I'm inspired and blessed or wired and stressed.

I figured you'd say that. The worst part was Mom paying all that money for a year just to destroy the house and yard with a 60 foot long dozer she can't drive. When Carter was running away, all I could see was Calvin and I wondered where Hobbs was.
