My heated opinion

I only have a moment to write about a few things.

One, I rode ten miles yesterday toward Thunder Bay, Ontario. Haven't had time to figure out the map.

Two, I'm still working on the push ups, sit ups, and squats. The soreness is gone and I'm feeling studly.

Three, Jamee is recovering from surgery but has inherited my mixed up innards. Wonder what the other kids look like inside? Loni's worried.

Four, Ted Kennedy. I am sorry for anyone's death from such an awful thing as brain cancer. I am sorry for the Kennedy family who has endured so much hardship. Ted Kennedy was amicable and found friends in both major parties. But...one, his hardcore liberal policies drove the country toward financial and moral ruin, in my opinion. Two, the fact that he killed a woman and was never charged, investigated, nor even questioned about it, and did not report it until friends prevailed upon him to do so says all I need to know about his real character. His years of open adultery and deceit are typical of the Kennedy clan. By most accounts, his father, Joseph, was embarrassed by his daughter, Rosemary's mental condition (rumored to be bipolar disorder or a form of depression). She had violent mood swings, and acted out in public, in contradiction to the rest of the Kennedys. This family had an average IQ of 130, near genius. Rosemary was probably near average, which seemed slow, by comparison. Her father rejected her for this. Later, in her teenage years she would write to her father, telling him she would do anything to make him happy. She was sent away to live with her father's political aide.

At age 23, she was sent to have a lobotomy. This was thought to be able to cure her "mental illness". If you had been called stupid all your life, and told you did not measure up, would you not become mentally "ill"? The doctor's scrambled the front of her brain through an incision in her skull, with basically a kitchen knife. She was told to count backward, or recite the Lord's prayer. When she became incoherent, they stopped scrambling.

She was suddenly and incurably a vegetable. She stared at walls constantly and could not speak. To his credit, Ted visited her and was with her when she died in 2005, at the age of 86. Her father gave money to charitable organizations which dealt with mental retardation, but rarely visited her, and finally quit altogether. Modern doctors and others who were politically associated with the Kennedys said it was the biggest mental health cover up in history. Her mother, Rose, was devastated by the whole affair, and considered it the beginning of the Kennedy tragedies.

My respect for Joseph is nil. The man made money and obtained the power he craved and lost his family and ruined his daughter. The Kennedy boys were notorious womanizers and drunks. Ted was accused of rape and "acquitted" under a cloud.

I am sorry for them. There are two scriptures that come to my mind from the Book of Mormon. I am not their final judge, and I will refrain from appointing to them a final kingdom, and I believe that God will be merciful to them and to Mary Jo Kopechne, and I pray that he will be merciful to me.

The scriptures are Alma 30:60 and Ether 10:11. Do I believe that the Kennedys are satanic? Of course not. Do I think that they worship the devil? No way. Do I believe they supported wickedness and acted in a way contrary to the Lord? Yes. Always in their own interests at the expense of the little people they used as stepping stones, including Mary Jo and Rosemary? Yes.

Some will say I am being hurtful and mean at the death of a person who can no longer defend himself, or that I am speaking ill of the dead. So what? It's done all the time. I spoke ill of the Kennedy's behavior when they lived. Mormon speaks ill of Korihor and Morianton after their deaths.

I don't care about power. I seek only to bring down power and the powerful who abuse their stations. The truth needs to be said.
