Today, I went to work for a 15 minute conference call. I had ridden my motorcycle as it was so beautiful out. Cool, but my hot black leather jacket works great and makes me look great. I am hot.
Then I came home and Cindy and I took Kelly to Applebee's for lunch before those two went to the airport. Cindy asked if I wanted to go but I was feeling like I wanted to and should stay home.
Not long after they left, Loni called and said she had locked her keys in the car on the other side of town. sigh...
So I drove over their with a key we thought might be an extra one, but it turned out to be the extra key for Stevie's car. Sorry, Stevie. So I called the insurance company and, sure enough, we have roadside assistance coverage. So I called a locksmith. So he came out and unlocked the car and charged me $35 which is not bad and I get reimbursed by the insurance company. So I sent Loni to have a new key made and Walmart said it could not since Honda keys have a chip and it would be $75 to order from Honda. I hate this.
I came home and was able to take a little nap and then we started watching election coverage. I have been glued to the set except for a one hour break to watch Biggest Loser. Then we prayed and Cindy went to bed. Loni and I read Genesis 17 and now we are watching election coverage again.
On my bike trip, I passed through Cokeville, WY, a charming little hamlet, and am now headed toward Randolph, UT. A little story about Randolph. It is near the place in Utah where the state record coldest temperature ever occurred. Utah's coldest place is called Peter's Sink and the record coldest temp ever was -69 degrees Fahrenheit. Cold. But when I worked in the SLC weather office in the early 90s, our cooperative observer in Randolph called to report a low temperature of 17 degrees Fahrenheit. Not so cold really, right? Except it was August. August. That's right, August.

Oh Utah weather...it snowed like 4 inches last week, and now the high today is like 67. Whatever.
Guess what?
Harry Reid is in again for another 6 years!! Can you believe it?
Don't be mad at me, I voted for Sharon Angle.
Do you think the second coming will be coming with in that 6 years?
Jamee

Thanks for rescuing me at Ross. And reading Genesis 17 with me. And analyzing each chapter for over 30 minutes every night. And watching the election with me. And watching Biggest Loser. And giving me motivation. And being a great Dad :) I love you.
Jamee, I would love to give you and Nevada a hard time, but Colorado did not do much better in the election. I am all for believing that the Second Coming will be in that time...
Oh, Stevie. I don't miss snow. Sorry, dudette.
Jamee, I don't miss Harry Reid. Is he still a member of the church? If so, why?
Loni, YOU inspire ME. You can't possible understand how much. I love you, too.
Cynthia, I would not predict that, but I hope it's not in the next years. I need to get out of debt and be a better person. Of course I always feel that way.
I need a new keyless entry thingy for my car ($75 from Pontiac) and someone told me I can get it cheaper through Ebay. I looked on there and it was only like $35-40 (still haven't ordered it though.) I don't know if you can get the Honda key with the chip in it any cheaper through Ebay, but thought I would mention it.
I am loving our warm weather in Utah right now and hoping it lasts until Christmas! Then it can dump snow. Is that too much to ask?
Hmm. I might look it up on Ebay. Thanks Trudy. As a reward for that tidbit of info, I hereby bless you with warm weather until Christmas and then you get all the snow you want. Of course, if it does not work out that way, then it was an act of God, or it was Bush's fault.
Thanks Brian! I look forward to the warm weather! Thought I would share a political insight with you ... a professor told our class last night that some students claim the reason the Democrats took a beating in the election is because the Giants won the World Series -- it's thrown everyone's paradigm out the window. hahaha People don't know what's what anymore, it's like a rip in the universe or something. So if they get tired of blaming Bush for everything, now they can blame the Giants.
Wow. What an epiphany. Now just imagine if hell froze over: the Cubs could win it. But who would be elected? Yoiks. Keith Olberman, now that he's out of a job.
I am one of the biggest sports nuts on the planet. I am also sometimes a teacher of constitutional studies. It makes me weep, truly, to think of these two things even being considered together. I see, every day, how far we have come from knowing our nations organic, founding documents, yet still, stories like what Trudy shared still make me sigh, and sometimes cry.
