Today seemed to go by so slowly. Why do some days do that? I guess I'm coming down from a high into a low and the lower I go the longer the days seem to take. I get less done and find it harder to get excited about things. It's weird because at work I was nearly hyper. Tonight I struggled through ten miles of exercise bike riding for a total of 2,014. Whoopy ding dong.
I got my motorcycle back from getting its crash bars installed. "Crash bars" is a funny word. The warning on the package says, "These highway bars add style to your motorcycle only. They do not provide protection in the event of a crash." Oh, great. If I had known that, I would not have bought them. They do NOT add style. I think they give a split second, if the bike lays down, for you to get your leg out, whereas without them, your leg is under the bike, period.
The bike was in the shop for that, the lawnmower dies when it goes up hill so it went into the shop, and Loni's car died, so she's driving the SUV. Chris is fixing the alternator and battery for her. I am so thankful for him doing that. I owe him a giant steak.

In my Book of Mormon reading today, I just read the Testimony of the Three and of the Eight Witnesses.
Three Witnesses
They testified that the voice of God declared that the plates were translated by the gift and power of God, and that they thus knew the work to be true. They saw the engravings, the plates, and that an angel came down with the plates in hand to show them. All throughout their testimony they bear witness of God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, and give the honor to them. At no time do they take credit for anything, nor do they give Joseph Smith credit for anything.
Eight Witnesses
They testified that Joseph Smith showed them the plates with the engravings. They also said they had the appearance of gold and of “ancient work, and of curious workmanship”. They were allowed to actually leaf through the plates and pick them up and handle them.
Neither of these groups of men were afraid to give their names on legal documentation to the world. They staked their reputations and all their worldly possessions for this. Granted many of them left the church, some returned, but not a single one ever denied the Book of Mormon was true, or recanted his testimony. I think it’s worth noting that only three of the eleven witnesses were related to Joseph. Also, many women saw the plates, including his mother.
