New leg on my trip, etc.

Finally got off my butt to start riding again. I need someone to ride with me or workout with me. Any takers? Family? Friends? I know you are out there.

Rode 12 miles, total of 1,683 from home to Headingly, Manitoba. It's just two blocks north of South Headingly, Manitoba, or basically across the four lane. Somebody got mad and moved.

I'm headed to Regina, Saskatchewan to see a play at the Regina Little Theatre. In fact, I'm going to audition. I think it will be funny to hear Canadians do a play about the American South. "In a good shoe, I wear a size six, but a seven feels so good, I buy a size eight, eh?"

Well, I added eh? I just don't think they can do Louisiana right. I might just audition for a part.

Put my Kawasaki on craigslist. Said, "You can test ride it, if I have the money in hand as collateral." First contact I got, guy yelled at me wanting to hold his money. "You must not trust me!" "You are correct, I don't! Who ARE you?" Never heard from him again. What is typical are the ten or so that keep calling wanting to look at it, setting appointments, calling back, not showing up. Finally, I just say, "look I'll be at work. Drop by, here's the address. If you have the money, you can ride it into the sunset." I'm supposed to meet a guy tonight at 5. I'm waiting with baited breath.

When I got home from school last night, there was a motorcycle parked near our place that reminded me of yours and I thought maybe you had gotten a wild hair and rode your bike here! :)

It would be nice sometimes to have a "workout partner" of sorts. I don't ride an exercycle though...I do aerobics and floor exercises. Not sure how to track miles with that. I track points though on President's Challenge (on-line). I started doing that a long time ago while still in TN. So far I've earned the Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards and I'm a little more than halfway to the Platinum.

You can bike with me if you like to, I go every day on my real bike in the very real Swedish rain to my internship and back, approx 8 km each way. On good days I go to visit some clinic or other at Östra sjukhuset, which adds another 8 km. saturdays and sundays are usually of, but I do yoga then, don't know how to count that... You on?

I ride a stationary bike that counts miles. But when i go hiking or some other activity I note now I feel compared to the bike and count that many miles. so, if you can get an idea of how many minutes you work out, then you can think, a leisurely walk is about 2 mph, a brisk walk about 3 mph and a good pace is 4 mph. For me, at 5 mph, I'm jogging. But i also feel like hiking is harder than the bike, about 2-3 times as hard. So if I walk 3 miles at the park and do it quickly I'll count 7 or 8 on my chart. A hard kung fu workout is about 20 miles on the bike, sometimes more. And, sure, Anna, you should do what Jamee and me are doing and make a goal to ride some place, and count your kilometers on a google map and blog it on blogspot.com like we do. Stevie, you, too.

And Trudy, I got the bigger bike (1700 vs 1100) so i could plan a long road trip through Oklahoma, colorado, Utah and Nevada. I would love that. I can stay for free with friends and family. As long as I'M having fun, that's all that really matters. Eller hur, Anna?

du är så klok! Klok som en bok :) It's more than enough for me to just get to work and back every day. I'm so tired of al the hills by now! But if you want someone to bike with just pick anyplace you're going and I'll go there too in my very steady pace of 16 km a day. I'm done with my blogging for now...

På grund av att vara så tjock! Skulle ha varit en kock! I'm riding from Winnipeg to Regina, in Canada, right now. You can use google maps to figure out the kilometers. Are you still in Göteborg? I remember the hills...and I remember the railroad overpass in Kristianstad, which was the ONLY hill in town and we usually avoided it. I would not mind taking a break once I get to Regina and riding between two places in Sweden...

Can't avoid the hills here... I have ffigured the kilometers, it's about 8 each way. But today I was in Högsbo, actually got a job for the summer! Pretty proud of myself! So I'll be there a lot from now on. More hills. But I guess that a place that is named HÖGSbo cant be in a vally :)
