Sunday, etc.

I rode my bike ten miles to Solon Springs, Wisconsin, a nice community in the North Woods, don't you know. They like it cold there. At first I was kind of enchanted with the place, and then I noticed that they listed as things to do school sports (The Eagles, K-12), bars, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing. Just not my thing. Maybe the school sports.

Saw Avatar last night. If you can suspend your political and religious views for three hours, you might like it. I did, and enjoyed the story line and especially the animation, 3D, and the imagination of the creators of the world of Pandora. It really was a good movie. However...so was Dances With Wolves...except for the "All American military people are evil baby murdering thugs and all native peoples are wonderful and peaceful" parts. Basically same concept. Except for the fact that without the American military the Afghans would have no schools, no women's rights, and would still be practicing torture and capital punishment for spitting in public. Oh, and the fact that, for instance, native Americans were brutally slaughtering and enslaving each other for centuries and so were just about every other people in earth. Other than that, it was a good movie. Sherlock Holmes was better.
