I haven't written in this since I haven't ridden my bike after reaching the museum in Chicago. I need a goal to shoot for. Just riding is good, it's just hard to keep excited. So I got up at 4:45 this morning and rode 13 miles in 45 minutes before I had to get ready for seminary. I am waiting to hear from some people on a proposal for a fund raiser I want to do by riding my bike to earn money for an organization in town. But I want to turn into a publicity thing which will generate more money for them. Also I plan on hitting up family and friends, ahem....
Seminary started Tuesday, the 11th. I had 9 on the actual list, with another potential student for as many as ten. Twenty showed up the first day. Twenty. I've never had that many. It's wonderful, but a little difficult to keep the yakkers all quiet without stifling them. It's very exciting.
Today I have a meeting with our science guy and a UT geography professor about doing a joint project I've come up with on using soil type, land cover, and terrain slope to determine a "flash flood potential" for small areas in East Tennessee, southwest Virginia, and southwest North Carolina where we have to issued flash flood warnings. This would enable us to overlay radar images of estimated rainfall to see where to issue warnings first, hopefully. In fact, I hear our science guy explaining it to our boss right now. I should go and make sure he's getting it right. I also hear the phrase "$125,000 for a grant" being thrown around. Yippee!

Thanks, MJ. Good to be back. I still haven't heard about my new plan. I'll have to take action on my own next week.
