Mongolia

So, I was talking to Ricci, the bouncy desk clerk. She cannot stand still. She hops up and down and wiggles around when she talks. She is very nice and professional, just can't stand still. She mentioned that she and her fiance go shooting and I found out from her between jumps where the local shooting range is. In Tennessee, you have to take hunter safety, become certified, and then find a shooting range, drive about 40 miles, pay the fees, etc etc etc, to shoot. Pain in the butt.

I drove out to west Elko off Exit 298 and found the range. Free of charge. Lots of open space. Close. Rifle range, shotgun/skeet range, pistol range, etc etc etc. Just keep the barrel level or down. Be responsible. Pee in the outhouses provided. Or not. Dries out fast here, anyway.

I took this picture of the area. Is it Outer Mongolia or Elko West?

I had 44 rounds left for my 44 mag so I got some three inch targets and shot from 7 yards. I started off very, very sucky. But finished with a bang...

First ten rounds...

Last six rounds...

What bullet does when it goes in...

...and when it comes out...

I used my old hydrology engineering text book because I am not a hydrologist any more, and I didn't understand any of it anyway.

I have no metaphors, lessons, or observations. It was just cool to shoot.

Next time I'll try and write about Abigail, Daniel, and Nabal. I am just learning about them, and learning how much I DON'T know about types of Christ.

Way to make improvement! Yep, I definitely need to make a stop in Elko one day when we are doing our family travels and go shooting with you. Rookies only, Kurt is not invited. ;-P

I looked at carry weapons the other day. Saw a couple I liked but I would like to try a few out. Needs to be small enough to conceal but carry a punch. Any suggestions? Kurt? Cynthia? Daron? TK? Jamee? Olivia?

Love the Sigs, but only if you take the time to become intimate with it in order to compensate for the loss of accuracy due to the wonky bore design. I am still most comfortable and accurate with the Glock.

Depends on whether you are an automatic or revolver man. Ruger LCR .357 5 shot very nice for revolver. The Karr.380 7 shot very nice for automatic. Neither very heavy. Small enough to conceal. I have cop killer rounds (yes they are legal). Armour piercing with hollow point fragments following right behind. Lots of punch.

Hey I feel excluded. I want to shoot with you guys, gals, wahetever..you two. Let me glory in my ability to rub it in that I can put 87 out of 100 rounds into a 3" center at 30 feet. It gives you a goal to work towards.

I can't even afford 100 rounds of the big piece I own. I guess if I had a little girlie man gun like you, the rounds would be less expensive. I love you, man.

I go to the gun shows and by 500 rounds at a time. More than half off than if I bought at a store. Yet you are looking for a girlie man gun. Just remember the little guns kill just as well as the big guns. The big guns are like hitting a fly with a hammer. Get it, hammer, elicit old memory.
